The irony of using reclaimed metal to create something organic, like a horse, has led me down a road I would never have expected. The excitement of discovering the physicality of the horse in relation to our perceived ideas of them has allowed me to explore the possibilities and bump up against the limits of this reclaimed material while I continue to explore the mysticism of the curve.
This is my first series incorporating repurposed steel. Using only posture to achieve personality is my challenge here. I am very excited to bring the colors and patinas of old and weathered steel to life in the figures of horses.
